National Zoo Canberra - Western Plains Zoo
Friday 9th - Sunday 11th March 2012
An excellent three day ride is being organised from Canberra's National Zoo to Dubbo's Taronga Western Plains Zoo. It will be the fourth time the ride has taken place, have been completed in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
ENTRY FEE
Entry to the Canberra Zoo2Zoo $450 including GST per person.Event entry includes accommodation on Friday 9th March 2012 in Young (twin share) and Saturday 10th March 2012 in Molong (twin share).
Meals including morning tea, lunch and dinner on Friday 9th March 2012, breakfast, morning tea, lunch and dinner on Saturday 10th March 2012 and breakfast, morning tea and lunch on Sunday 11th March 2012.
It is highly recommended to have BicyleNSW membership, or something similar that has insurance covered. Please consider carefully what insurance you require for your personal situation.
CANCELLATIONS
In the case of a cancellation, Zoo2Zoo Incorporated will refund your entry less any costs incurred.
FUNDRAISING
The point of doing the Zoo2Zoo is two fold. One is providing a safe and enjoyable ride from Canberra to Dubbo over 3 days, the second is to raise funds and awareness for the Black Dog Institute. Although there is no minimum amount to be raised, it is expected that each rider try their best. Instructions on how to register on the everydayhero are on the link below:

ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation will be the Young Federation Motor Inn (4 star) on Friday 9th March 2012 (twin share) and a combination of the Motor Inn, two B&Bs and the Pub in Molong (all twin share).
AGE LIMIT REQUIREMENTS
Persons must be 18 years old to participate in the Zoo2Zoo.
PROMOTIONAL KIT
Entrants must wear an official Zoo2Zoo riding shirt to participate in the Zoo2Zoo. If you have done the 2008, 2009, 2010 or 2011 Zoo2Zoo, you are able to wear the riding shirts from those rides. Otherwise, you are able to purchase a jersey for $80.
Kit will be available for collection on the morning of the ride at the start of the Zoo2Zoo.
COMMON SENSE
You must ride in a safe and responsible manner during the Zoo2Zoo and use common sense at all times. You should exercise caution on all public roads and operate defensively and courteously.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
We welcome people with disabilities on the Zoo2Zoo and ask that other riders show the same consideration and support they would expect to receive from other riders. Zoo2Zoo Incorporated will use all reasonable efforts to cater for your particular disability where able.
FOOD DURING THE RIDE
Zoo2Zoo Incorporated will provide all snacks, food and drinks during the Zoo2Zoo.SAG WAGON
A trailing support vehicle for riders is provided by Zoo2Zoo Incorporated. The Sag Wagon travels behind the last riders on the ride and usually arrives late to the finish.

Day 3 (Molong – Dubbo’s Western Plains Zoo) - 115km

Section 1: Molong – Cumnock (approx 25km) (6.00am – 7.00am)
A few hills, but should be fresh – breakfast at Cumnock Art Gallery.
Section 2: Cumnock – Yeoval (approx 25km) (7.30am – 8.30am)
Quite a gentle ride - a 15min break at Yeoval.
Section 3: Yeoval – Wambangalang (approx 35km) (8.45am – 10.30am)
Quiet a few hills in this section as we cross the northern end of the Harvey Ranges - 15min break at Wambangalang before the final push to the finish
Section 4: Wambangalang – Dubbo’s Western Plains Zoo (approx 30km) (10.45am – 12.15pm)
Mainly flat gentle ride. All gather at Morris Park Raceway for a group ride to the zoo (approx 4k's). We will do one lap of the zoo and then continue to the West Dubbo Lions Park as per Section 5.
Section 5: Dubbo’s Western Plains Zoo - West Dubbo Lions Park (approx 5km) (12.45pm - 1.00pm)
The final stretch – Tracker Riley cycleway takes us right to the West Dubbo Lions Park, where we will meet friends and family and enjoy a BBQ at the West Dubbo Lions Park.
